Planning is underway for our 38th Annual PABPMTCA Tax Collector's conference.  Please check in here for further information.  If any of the membership would like to suggest topics or propose a site for the 2018 conference please contact us using the link above.

2018 is likely to be an active year for local taxation in the Commonwealth.  In addition to PA Senate Bill 653 which proposes to consolidate collection of all Act 511 taxes including Business Privilege Tax at the county level we will also be following the property tax reform efforts.  All of this is taking place at the same time the Federal Government is in the process of enacting sweeping changes to the individual and corporate tax codes.  As always we will need to be updated as details become available on all these efforts.  For those municipalities that rely on these taxes for a significant portion of their revenue there has never been a more important time to stay informed and act in a unified way to preserve local control over BPT and Mercantile collection.

The annual conference is a great opportunity to:

  • Network with fellow tax collectors
  • Find ideas or suggestions for increasing revenue
  • Receive up to 12.0 CPE or 12.0 CLE substantive credits  (Pending Approval)
  • Learn about pending court cases and legislative actions in the local arena before they become headlines
  • Learn new skills or update existing knowledge.

The registration fee for our conference represents an outstanding value.  In the past it has been set at $150 for members and $200 for nonmembers if paid by the early registration date.  First time attendees receive a discounted rate of $100.
