2017 annual tax conference

bThe 38th Annual PABPMTCA Tax Collector's conference will be held at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Glen Mills, PA.  The Wyndham is conveniently located on Bethlehem Pike and under 2 hours drive for most of our membership.  The hotel is also near Brandywine Valley attractions such as Longwood Gardens, the Brandywine Battlefield and Chadds Ford.  The association is planning an outing on Thursday evening to Longwood Gardens which recently opened it's fountain gardens after a multimillion dollar restoration.

This year's tax conference comes as two major cases local business tax appeal cases are winding their way through the appeals process and legislative efforts are underway in Harrisburg to consolidate collection of all Act 511 taxes including Business Privilege Tax at the county level.  For those municipalities that rely on these taxes for a significant portion of their revenue there has never been a more important time to stay informed and act in a unified way to preserve local control over BPT and Mercantile collection.

The annual conference is a great opportunity to:

  • Network with fellow tax collectors
  • Find ideas or suggestions for increasing revenue
  • Receive up to 11.0 CPE or 11.0 CLE substantive credits  (Pending Approval)
  • Learn about pending court cases and legislative actions in the local arena before they become headlines
  • Learn new skills or update existing knowledge.

The registration fee for this years conference represents and outstanding value.  It has been set at $150 for members and $200 for nonmembers if paid by August 19th.  First time attendees receive a discounted rate of $100 if paid by August 19.  After August 19th all fees increase by $50.
